On the morning of August 5th, Nanchang High-tech Zone held a ceremony to start major key projects in 2020, and 27 projects represented by the China Micro Semiconductor Equipment R&D Base were started.

Nanchang China Micro Semiconductor Equipment Co., Ltd. was established in December 2017 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Micro Semiconductor Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. The project was manufactured in Nanchang in March 2018, fully put into production in May, and achieved mass production in September, and has a output value of 920 million yuan in 2019.

The total investment of the Nanchang China Micro Semiconductor Equipment Production R&D Base project is about 1 billion yuan, and the total construction area is about 140,000 square meters. After the project is put into production, it will achieve an annual production capacity of 200 cavity MOCVD equipment.

According to information, China Micro Semiconductor Equipment Co., Ltd. will manufacture MOCVD equipment with independent intellectual property rights on a large scale in Nanchang, build the world's most important and largest high-end MOCVD equipment manufacturing base, and promote the development of MOCVD-related basic scientific research and the third generation in Nanchang. The development of semiconductor application products will gradually build Nanchang Micro-Microelectronics into a world-class MOCVD R&D, manufacturing and innovation center; actively promote the production base of Micro-Micro Corporation and upstream and downstream supply chain enterprises to settle in Nanchang, forming an industrial cluster for semiconductor high-end equipment manufacturing.

According to a report from Nanchang High-tech Zone, affected by corona virus, the market demand for anti-virus products such as deep-ultraviolet LEDs has soared since the beginning of this year, and deep-ultraviolet LEDs have a broad application space. Nanchang China Micro Semiconductor Equipment Co., Ltd. seized the opportunity and actively invested in research and development, and developed a high-temperature MOCVD equipment Prismo HiT3 with independent intellectual property rights, which is a key equipment for the production of deep ultraviolet LEDs. In June of this year, the first batch of HiT3 machines were sent to customers from Nanchang.

The settlement of China Micro Semiconductors has created a complete LED industry chain with independent intellectual property rights from MO sources, substrate materials, epitaxy, chips, packaging, terminal applications and MOCVD key production equipment for Nanchang High-tech Zone, and makes it the only development zone with independent intellectual property rights for original technology in the industrial chain in the whole country.
